Should I Hire My Friend For My Kitchen Renovation?

Now let’s look at your friend’s point of view: The client is my friend. He’ll understand if I’m a little late, or don’t complete the work exactly on time.  I am giving him a really good deal and he knows that I need to pay attention to my higher paying clients to make a living. I’m actually doing him a favor!

Do yourself a favor. When a contractor works with a client that is NOT his friend, the focus of the relationship is on the work to be performed.  There is no pre-existing relationship to get in the way.  It’s purely professional.  This arrangement will lead to a satisfactory outcome for both parties.

Keep friends. Work with professionals.

Be sure to select a contractor with a solid reputation and experience to back it up. A contractor with ten or more years experience will likely understand the “ins and outs” of remodeling. They have walked the path of the remodeling mine field and know where, and where not, to step.
